Sunset at the Stables. A recurring evening gathering for women to connect with each other, with the horses, and with themselves. Same golden-hour magic every time. A new theme with every moon.
August 27. Full Moon Picnic in the Pasture
On the evening of August 27, something rare happens over the Texas Hill Country.
As the sun sets, the moon rises. And as it climbs into the darkening sky, Earth's shadow begins to move across its surface ~ slowly, dramatically ~ until the moon turns a deep, luminous red.
A blood moon. A partial lunar eclipse. Visible right here, from the pasture, with the horses grazing beside you.
This is the evening we gather for.
You’lll arrive as the light begins to soften. We start with the horses, no agenda, no performance. Just the particular quiet that settles over you when you are in the company of horses. Reflective grooming is one of the gentlest doorways into presence we know. The horses do the rest.
Then we migrate to the picnic table. We graze together, unhurried, the kind of meal that feels like it has all the time in the world. Good food, easy company, the sky deepening above us.
And then as the blood moon rises over the Hill Country, we gather for a group intention-setting ritual. The eclipse is a threshold — an astronomical door opening and closing. What are you ready to call in? What are you ready to release into that red light?
We name it together. We hold it together. And then we let the night carry it.
Some evenings are beautiful. This one is rare.
Come with an open heart. Come with the women in your life who deserve a night like this.
Non-riding. Ground-based. No horse experience needed.
The light at this hour is extraordinary. And this season, we have something special — Wimberley Western Portraits photographer Michelle Murphy will be on hand to capture the evening professionally.
