Holistic Horsemanship Training with Micheli Lynn
Where feel, trust, and partnership come first.
Holistic Horsemanship is more than training—it’s a complete approach that honors the horse as a whole being. Trainer Micheli Lynn's approach brings every aspect of the horse to the table: biomechanics, saddle fit, nutrition, emotional well-being, and communication. The result is a partnership built on trust, feel, and understanding—where horse and human move together in any discipline with confidence, harmony, and ease.
Meet Micheli Lynn
Holistic Horsemanship Trainer | Colt Starter | Equine-Facilitated Learning Specialist
Born in Cabo San Lucas and riding before she could walk, Micheli Lynn’s life has always revolved around horses. Her earliest memories are of being passed from horse to horse on the beaches of Mexico—her fourth birthday marked by her first buck-off and her first lesson in humility and connection.
After moving to the U.S., Micheli competed across New England in Hunter Jumper circuits before turning her focus toward understanding the deeper psychology of both horses and humans. She earned her degree in Psychology with dreams of becoming a marine mammal trainer—but life led her right back to land, and back to horses.
Her journey took an unexpected turn when she began volunteering at the Burke Center for Youth in Texas, a residential treatment program for boys. Within months, she was asked to take over management of the barn and its seven horses. There, she earned her EAGALA certification and spent two years immersed in equine-facilitated learning—teaching emotional regulation, communication, and trust through the horse-human relationship.
At the same time, Micheli was sharpening her horsemanship skills by riding barrel horses and learning the subtleties of colt starting. Her hands-on education deepened at McGinnis Meadows Ranch in Montana, where she trained under the Buck Brannaman-style of horsemanship—learning to work cattle, rope, and refine her partnership with horses from the ground up.
From Montana to Fort Worth, and Oregon to Nevada, Micheli continued to study under some of the best horseman in the business. She’s started colts for performance programs, reined cow horse competitors, and private clients across the country—all while maintaining her roots at the Burke Center, where she continues to mentor youth through horsemanship.
Today, Micheli blends psychology, energy work, and true cowboy horsemanship into a holistic training approach that honors both horse and human. Whether starting a young colt, rebuilding trust in a troubled horse, or teaching riders to lead with calm confidence, her mission remains the same: to build partnerships based on respect, feel, and understanding—never force.
